Kera smiled as she watched the cubs go off to play, hoping they wouldn't leave the outlands. Amali laid down beside her mother and fell asleep.

A twig snapped. The cheetah cub froze. She hadn't meant to be that noisy. Her mom would have scolded her. Her heart sank, she sure missed her mother. Even though it seemed silly, she pretended that her mom was there and would have silent conversations with her mother in her head. She wasn't crazy, it was the only thing that kept her from losing hope. She remembered that her mom told her that silence when walking was the best habit to learn. She shook her head and continued on. She looked around at the place around her. The place she was in was scary to her, but she'd never admit it in a million years. There was a nagging feeling in the back of her head that she knew this place. Then it dawned on her. This was the elephant graveyard! That meant she was close to the pridelands.

High above and behind the young cheetah were a pair of small, glowing eyes, watching her as she entered the eerie place.
With Okuda off hunting, Karani made it a mission to scope out the territories across the Pridelands and the Outlands. Currently, he was in the elephant graveyard, perched on the tusk of a dessicated elephant. His companion would join him later.
"It ain't smart for little cubs to go off explorin' on their own," The vulture mentioned to Sierra from a distance, his golden irises shining somewhat. "Sure, the hyenas here may be long gone, but there are worse things out there."

A young orphan cub crouched in the grass. He slowly circled the cubs trying not to make a sound. He was quite small for his size but his hunting and stalking skills were continuing to grow. He had come from a pride far away and he lived there most of his young life until a drought killed everyone in is pride...except for him and one other whom he does not know. For the longest time he wandered from pride to pride each time asking to join and each time being rejected. This time he would not take no for an answer. He was determined to join this pride and would even beg if he absoulutely needed to. He kept circling till he came to a spot then crouched lower looking at the cubs and their mother.

Kera looked up as she heard a faint noise. The young lioness pulled Amali closer to herself. "Get back here you guys!" she called after the rest of her cubs. "It's getting late, and you don't know what's out there," she warned. She rested her head on her paws. The light wind ruffled her pelt and she closed her eyes slowly. She felt Amali's small heart beating and she licked her ear. The sun was beginning to set, showering the sky with bright and beautiful colors.
"Habu? Baina? Mano?" Kera called out toward the area her cubs had been playing. If something was out there, she couldn't let her cubs be harmed. With the sun setting, shadows were everywhere, making the dreading feeling that had been forming in Kera's stomach grow.

The cub began to growl faintly, then he pounced just noticing the young lioness there. His eyes widened and quickly jumped back hoping she wouldn't notice.

Sierra jumped as she was startled. "Who would I be with?" she asked in retort. She often forgot that not everyone knew her mother was dead, she expected everyone to know and was often dissapointed. She held her head up dignatly waiting for a reply.

Karani the vulture made a light smirk at the cheetah cub's quick retort, hopping from the tusk he perched on to spread his wings, effortlessly soaring to a lower perch, in order to get a better look at the cub.
"Parent, aunt, uncle, someone close," he replied. "A supervisor. Plenty of lions 'n other predators who'd find a lone cheetah cub a tasty meal."
The vulture seemed to be an underhanded character, but not dangerous. However, in the distance sounded the trudge of heavy, methodical pawsteps across the bones of the graveyard.
Karani smiled a bit, peering back over to the source of the sound before looking back at the cub. "You're in luck," he said lowly. "You get to meet my friend, Okuda."

mean while, zira (the leader of the outlanders) was teaching her son nuka, how to hunt. ' snap' zira rolled her eye's. " nuka, are even trying to hunt?" zira growled "s-s-sorry mother, i'll try harder, I-I promise" said nuka scratching his self furiously. "Nuka! stop scratching and pay attention. watch how i do it." said zira as she crouched down low. she moved silently toward the edge of the outlands where a group of wilderbeasts were grazing. she slowly moved closer and closer to the wilderbeasts carefully to not make a sound. as she closed in the gap between them she was intorrupted by a loud scratching sound. ' oh no, nuka's done it again' thought zira as she watched the wilderbeasts raise thier heads and run in the oppisite direction. she sat up and looked over her shoulder. " Nuka, there goes our dinner" zira sneered " don't worry mother, I-I-I'll find something for us to eat" said nuka crouching low to the ground as his mother paused by him. " you better cuz i've got two hungry mouths to feed at home" zira growled "y-yes m-mother" nuka said trembling " Good, i've got to get home now to check on the future king and vitani and see to it that they stay out of trouble" said zira as she walked off
